Black and white portrait of a young woman with glasses and chin-length hairI’m a PhD student in language acquisition at the University of Göttingen. In my PhD, I investigate why children learn the words they do. We find considerable individual differences in early vocabularies, and I am interested in the factors that explain them. My research focuses on the interplay of existing semantic knowledge and category curiosity in novel word learning.
